Rachel Nixon

Rachel was first introduced to Buddhist teachings in 1999 through Pema Chödrön's writings. Over the years, she has developed a personal meditation practice and has trained at Shambhala Meditation Centers in Maine, Vermont, New York, Colorado, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. In 2018-2019, Rachel attended the seven-week Winter Yarne Retreat with Ani Pema Chödrön at Gampo Abbey. She currently serves as the Director of Rockland Shambhala, and she is a trained Shambhala Path Meditation Instructor. Rachel loves sharing the Buddhist teachings on compassion with the community. In addition to teaching, she loves to sail, visit islands, swim, and go on adventures with her family.
