Yin Yoga is a calming, meditative practice that is perfect for students of all levels. Each class begins with a centering meditation to connect with the body, breath, and mind. This inward focus is carried into the postures (asanas), all of which are done on the floor. You will explore forward and backbends, twists, and lateral stretches, holding each posture for 3-5 minutes. Yin is a practice of letting go into each pose, letting gravity and time do the work. Each class ends with a deep relaxation (savasana) to restore balance at all levels. Yin increases flexibility in the joints, detoxifies the body, and cultivates clarity in the mind.
