Take a day just for you! Enjoy the refreshing ocean air and breathtaking views..... Monhegan is a spectacular island. 
 
The adventure begins with a brilliant boat ride from Port Clyde out through the islands and waters of Muscongus Bay. Wildlife sightings – porpoises, seals, eagles, and seabirds – are a real treat. Upon arrival on Monhegan, we’ll set our intentions for the day and enjoy a morning yoga practice. We'll hike along the water's edge, through forested trails, and along breathtaking cliffs. We’ll practice yoga and meditation at various spots along the way! The middle of the day will feature free time to enjoy lunch, hike additional trails, relax in a favorite spot on the island, swim in the invigorating ocean, etc. We’ll gather back together in the afternoon for a closing circle. The day ends with a gorgeous boat ride home to the mainland.
 
Level: Everyone is welcome… no yoga experience necessary! It is important that you are comfortable hiking on uneven surfaces through the woods and along rocky shores.

Suggested donation: $95-135 (sliding scale). Includes ferry, as well as yoga and meditation on the island. Parking is paid separately by car; carpooling is encouraged. If the lowest amount presents an obstacle for you, please email [email protected] about a payment plan or scholarship. If you are able to pay the full amount, you will help someone else participate.

What to wear/bring: Wear comfortable clothes/layers for the boat ride, sturdy hiking shoes, and sunglasses/sunscreen/hat; bring a small backpack with… two (2) filled water bottles, bug spray, camera (if you'd like), healthy snacks, hearty lunch and/or money to buy food on the island (cash is helpful), bathing suit/towel (if you’d like to dive in), etc. You do not need to bring a yoga mat. To support the retreat experience, please leave your cell phone in your car or put it on airplane mode and bring it along as a camera! Note: the public restrooms request a donation of 50 cents per use... you might bring along a little change!
 
Weather? If there is drizzle or light rain, the trip will go! If it's a downpour, we'll reschedule. If you cannot make the raindate, you will receive a credit at the studio or a refund.

8:30 a.m. Welcome and plan for the day
 
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Yoga, meditation, and hiking
 
12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Lunch break and free time for exploration
 
3:30-4 p.m. Closing circle
 
4:30 p.m. Depart Monhegan via Monhegan Boat Lines
 
5:30 p.m. Arrive Port Clyde
 
6:00 p.m. Arrive The Dancing Elephant (carpoolers!)
