Dharma Talk: Buddhist Ethics for a Sustainable Tomorrow

with Peggy Smith
Thursday, March 5, 6-8 p.m.
Join us for our Dharma Talk series on the first Thursday of every month. The evening includes meditation, a talk, discussion, and time for visiting. Tea will be offered at 5:45 p.m.

As part of the Eightfold Path, the Buddha outlined the ethics needed to reduce suffering and establish a sustainable future, both for individuals and society. Join Peggy Smith for an exploration of the Buddha’s ethical guidelines, through a version updated for our modern times by Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh and his students. These ethics - the Five Mindfulness Trainings - are not rules to be mastered or broken. They are guidelines to support our true happiness and the happiness of society. The evening will be interactive with periods of mindfulness meditation, personal reflection, and small group discussion.
Everyone is welcome.
Come 5-10 minutes early; preregistration is not required.
Suggested donation: $5-20. Donations in any amount are graciously accepted.
