Breathing through Blocks

with Katie Ring, Yoga Instructor
Four Thursdays, February 4-25, 7:15-8:15 p.m.

Via Zoom... link provided with registration!

Are you feeling stuck or blocked in any way? Join Katie for a four-week series to learn breathing techniques to clear mental, emotional, and physical blocks!

Our breath is our prana – our life force. When our prana is flowing freely, we feel alive and radiant in day-to-day life. We might even feel like we are in a state of flow. When our life force is blocked, we can feel stuck or depleted. Come learn pranayama, or breathing techniques, to help loosen blocks, inside and out.

What to expect in this series:
  • Build a new relationship with your breath, your prana
  • Create new breathing habits to release physical and emotional gunk stuck in your tissues
  • Learn how to calm a hyperactive mind, regulate your nervous system, or get a boost of energy when depressed
  • Gain insight into how your breathing came to be the way it is
  • Open your heart space

Each class will begin with a short, fun breathing practice. We’ll then move into yoga sequences with guided pranayama to bring fresh oxygen to the whole body, all of the precious cells. We’ll follow up with a focused Breath Meditation practice. Class will close with journaling, a review of the breathing tools, and an invitation for an at-home practice.

Level: Everyone is welcome.

Katie loves to see others light up with confidence and inspiration! For Katie, practicing Kundalini Yoga helps her release tension, breakthrough mental blocks, and handle life’s demands. In 2012, Katie’s doctor recommended yoga to support her weakened nervous system. At first, Katie tried to mimic what other yogis were doing in class, but her body didn’t even know how to reach past her knees. Eventually she heard her body’s cues more clearly, strengthening her self-trust. Since then, Katie has received her 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Certification with Hari Kirin & Sahaj Kaur in MA. In addition to yoga, Katie studied Natural Cooking in Boulder, CO, and continued studying plant medicine with Sage Maurer in VT. Katie works as a Preschool Teacher, High-Prana Chef, and Creatrix. You’ll find her walking and singing through woods and waters or sipping a hot tea at Seafolk!

The Dancing Elephant is by donation so that everyone can participate. Donations in any amount are graciously appreciated.
